Privacy policy
How Sellect collects, uses and protects your personal information. Effective 19 October 2026.
Who we are. Sellect is a trading name of CEELAB SAS, a simplified joint-stock company registered in France (SIREN 840 401 707), whose registered office is at 10 rue Réaumur, 75003 Paris, France. CEELAB SAS is the responsible party (POPIA) and data controller (GDPR) for the personal information described in this policy.
Information Officer and data protection contact: Maxime Weinstein, President of CEELAB SAS. Email maximeweinstein17@gmail.com, write to the address above or message us on WhatsApp.
We wrote this policy to meet South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA) and, because CEELAB SAS is established in France, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

3. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Partner agents, only when you ask us to put you in touch (for example by booking a visit). We share what the agent needs to contact you and prepare: your name, contact details, the property and your report.
- Service providers who process data on our behalf, under contract and only on our instructions:
- Netlify, Inc. (website hosting, forms and server functions, United States);
- Google LLC and its affiliates (Google Sheets and Apps Script to store and manage requests; Google Maps Platform for address suggestions, Street View and map images; Google Analytics for audience measurement);
- an email delivery provider, once we start emailing reports.
- WhatsApp (Meta), only if you choose to contact us there. WhatsApp's own privacy policy then applies.
- Authorities, courts or advisers where the law requires it or to protect our rights.
4. Property data from public records
Our estimates and reports use information published by the City of Cape Town (cadastral data, the General Valuation Roll and the registered sales it publishes) and other public sources. This data describes properties: addresses, unit numbers, sizes, municipal values, sale prices and dates. We do not collect or display the names of owners, buyers or sellers.
If you believe a property detail shown on Sellect is wrong, or you object to a sale of your home being shown, contact us and we will review it promptly.
5. Transfers outside South Africa and the EU
Our providers may store or process data in the United States and other countries. We use providers that offer adequate protection, through binding agreements such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or recognised certification frameworks, as required by POPIA section 72 and GDPR Chapter V.
6. How long we keep it
- Report and contact requests: up to 24 months after our last exchange, then deleted or anonymised.
- Agent applications: up to 12 months if no partnership follows.
- Email updates: until you unsubscribe, then only a record of the opt-out.
- Records we must keep by law: for the period the law requires.

You can ask us to:
- confirm whether we hold information about you and give you a copy;
- correct, update or delete it;
- stop or restrict using it, or object to its use, including for direct marketing;
- withdraw your consent at any time (this does not affect what was done before);
- receive the information you gave us in a portable format (GDPR).

8. Cookies and similar technologies
Audience measurement (Google Analytics). We use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google, to understand how the site is used: which pages are viewed, where visitors come from (for example a search engine or one of our adverts), and which steps of the estimate they complete. This helps us improve the site and measure our advertising.
- Cookies: Google Analytics sets the cookies
_gaand_ga_WFCHHVG0TC, which distinguish visitors and sessions. They last up to 2 years. - What is sent: pages viewed without their personal parameters, the source of your visit, device, browser, approximate location and actions on the site. We do not send your name, email, phone number or property address. Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses.
- Retention: measurement data is kept in Google Analytics for up to 14 months, then deleted.
- Opting out: you can block or delete these cookies in your browser settings, or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The site keeps working normally.
Other storage. The site uses your browser's local storage only for small conveniences, such as remembering that the chat window was closed. Google may set its own cookies when address suggestions, maps or Street View load. We do not use advertising cookies today. If we add any, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
9. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information: encrypted connections (HTTPS), restricted access to our records and providers bound by confidentiality. If a security compromise affects you, we will notify you and the regulator as the law requires.
10. Children
Sellect is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect information about anyone under 18.
11. Changes
We may update this policy. The effective date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is significant, we will tell you on the site or by email.
